Eat Well, Glow Well: Iced Tea

You are what you eat (and drink)! We've previously told you about the importance of eating right to keep your skin healthy, strong and glowing, but this time we're going to tell you about a drink you need to add to your skincare routine! There’s a lot of different diets out there for taking care of skin, but we’re going to try to keep it simple with a couple of things you can add to your diet to make sure that your skin is as healthy as possible. Today we're covering a summer favorite, talking about the benefits of drinking iced tea!

Many of us love sitting outside in the summer time with a cold drink and a great view - it's summer time bliss! If you want your skin to be hydrated and healthy, you should consider making that cold drink an iced tea. While heavily sweetened teas can't be considered particularly healthy, tea itself is packed with nutrients to help your skin glow.

Before we tell you all the benefits of drinking iced tea, we want to make sure you know that these benefits exist from drinking tea at any temperature, but iced tea is the tea of choice for about 85% of Americans and it’s one of our summertime favorites!

Tea contains something called catechins, a class of flavonoids which naturally reduce inflammation, improve blood circulation and combat free radicals. Just to remind you, free radicals are what cause your skin to age and show damage, so battling them is key. Make sure to pair your iced tea with our line of products for best results!

Tea also includes epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), another powerful antioxidant which can reduce premature skin aging and offers protection against many types of cancers. There is also evidence that catechins and EGCG helps to protect your skin against the suns damaging UV rays. If you do end up in the sun a little too long, make sure to get some of our HYDRATE to soothe and heal your skin faster.

While our natural products are excellent for giving you buildable color, a DIY sunless tan and glowing skin that keeps you from showing signs of age, it is critical that you pair them with foods that give your body the nutrients needed to protect and restore your skin.

Let's get glowing :)
